Process selection
Manufacturing Routes for Automotive Parts
The route is selected from geometry, material, quantity, tooling, inspection and delivery requirements.

CNC-bewerking
Housings, shafts, brackets, interfaces and complex precision components.

Plaatwerk
Panels, brackets, covers, enclosures and heat-management structures.

Spuitgieten
Defined plastic clips, ducts, covers, housings and functional components.

3D afdrukken
Form, fit and assembly checks before production tooling or machining.
Materials and finishes
Material Options for Automotive Parts
Choose the grade and condition from load, temperature, wear, weight, corrosion, electrical function and cost requirements.
Aluminiumlegeringen
Lightweight options for housings, brackets, adapters, cooling parts and racing structures.

Legeringsstaal
For shafts, transmission interfaces and loaded components requiring strength and wear resistance.

Roestvrij staalsoorten
Corrosion-resistant options for fittings, sensor mounts and fluid-system parts.

Titaniumlegeringen
For selected components requiring high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance.

Copper, Brass & Bronze
For electrical, thermal, connector, bushing and wear-interface requirements.

Technische kunststoffen
For insulation, guides, bushings, covers and low-load functional components.

Tolerance and quality control

Buyer questions
Automotive CNC Machining FAQ
Practical answers for automotive engineers, purchasing teams and racing-project buyers.
Can Weldo machine one-off and low-volume racing parts?
Yes. One-off prototypes, test parts and low-volume racing components can be reviewed from controlled drawings, material requirements and inspection criteria.
What information is needed to quote a custom automotive or racing part?
Provide the latest 2D drawing and 3D model, revision, material, quantity, critical tolerances, finish, inspection requirements and target delivery date. These inputs also determine price and lead time.
How do you control consistency from prototype to repeat orders?
Approved drawings, revisions, machining programs and inspection requirements are controlled for each order. Additional production records are supplied when agreed.
Which materials are commonly used for custom racing parts?
Common options include 6061 and 7075 aluminum, alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium and engineering plastics. Selection depends on load, temperature, wear, weight and corrosion requirements.
Can Weldo provide PPAP or automotive quality documents?
Weldo is ISO 9001:2015 certified. PPAP, FAI, control plans, material certificates, CoC, dimensional reports and traceability must be defined and accepted during quotation.
Are custom racing parts automatically road legal or competition approved?
No. Manufacturing a part to drawing does not provide road approval or motorsport homologation. The customer must confirm the rules for the vehicle, series and intended use.
