Copper Machining

Copper is a highly conductive metal commonly used for electrical connectors, terminals, ports, and electronic interface components.

Common copper material

Different copper grades provide varying levels of conductivity, strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability for diverse industrial applications.

Density: 8.90–8.96 g/cm³
Copper has a high density, giving machined parts good stability and a solid structure for connectors, terminals, and busbars.

Electrical Conductivity: 80–101% IACS
Copper offers excellent conductivity, making it ideal for terminals, contact pins, electronic ports, and power transmission parts.

Thermal Conductivity: 300–401 W/m·K
Copper transfers heat quickly, so it is widely used for heat sinks, cooling plates, and thermal management components.

Hardness: 40–110 HB
Copper has moderate hardness, balancing machinability, formability, wear resistance, and dimensional stability.

Tensile Strength: 200–360 MPa
Copper provides enough strength for moderate loads while keeping good ductility for precision machined parts.

Yield Strength: 50–300 MPa
Higher yield strength helps copper parts resist permanent deformation in terminals, clips, busbars, and conductive structures.

Elongation: 15–50%
Good elongation allows copper parts to withstand bending, stamping, crimping, and assembly without cracking easily.

Surface treatment

Copper parts can be finished with polishing, plating, and anti-oxidation treatments to improve conductivity, solderability, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and appearance.
