How CNC Turning Works

The chuck or collet rotates the workpiece while programmed tools move along radial and axial paths. A controlled sequence can create diameters, tapers, grooves, bores, threads and cut-off features in one setup.

Yes. Live tooling or a secondary milling operation can add non-rotational features when tool access and datum control permit.

How tight can CNC turning tolerances be?

General capability is typically around 0.01 mm. Selected features may be reviewed to ±0.005 mm depending on material, geometry, size and inspection method.
