How CNC Turning Works
The chuck or collet rotates the workpiece while programmed tools move along radial and axial paths. A controlled sequence can create diameters, tapers, grooves, bores, threads and cut-off features in one setup.
Setup and Datum
Stock, grip length, runout and reference faces are established.
Rough Turning
Material is removed with stable chip and heat control.
Finish Features
Critical diameters, grooves, threads and bores are completed.
